TORA MSA Touring Car Championship '13

12th 13th and 5th for me

For those that didn't know, myself, Gaz, Baz and Si all ended up in the same lobby for the last round of TORA TCC. Something I'd been looking forward to right from the start. The only down side being I didn't actually get chance to race with them properly since I was either way out front, or way behind.

Anyway, the replays from the Sebring round are now all on my storefront for those interested.

Also, just had a quick look at the standing, and Gaz, Si and Lucy may like to that Pixel Motorsport are directly behind Britworks Racing in the team standings. All be it a 225 point gap. Also, Gaz and Si, you're still locked in to an almost neck and neck battle in the drivers standings. Link here.

Not sure I'm going to be about for it yet.

I won't be there but on the plus side ill be relaxing on holiday drinking beer and generally enjoying myself in about 30 degrees.

Because the track is pants, and lets be honest. None of us have been bold over by the quality of TORA events. You're allowed two drop scores anyway, so if your lowest score in a zero, you loose less. If you catch my drift. I may be there, or I may not.

Not in TORA, was on with Dan for a few R3 races with Dave130 and a few 1ftr and throwmeahotdog.

oh if you could have heard him Gaz. Wish I had a capture card. Had a 7th and an 8th so far... waiting for race 3 now yaaaawwwwn.

Okay. Fairly clean races tonight. The major drawback tonight in my lobby was a 2.1 second gap (per lap) between the fastest qually time and the slowest (my time). I managed to improve my qually time by a massive 1.8 seconds, but with a tow.

Grid position, 12. Finishing positions, 7th, 8th.... 10th

Hate is a strong word, so. The 5 things I strongly dislike about TORA.

1. Biggest hate. That kackin' BMW. It's a pile of rocks. Wait no. Rocks are useful, they filter water. It's as good as using a feather as an umbrella.
   
2. Reverse grids for race 3. It's pish.
   
3. Being an admin means you have your head so far up your own **** that you can't see the wood from the trees.
   
4. It also means you can whinge and moan and no-one will retort because they're too scared.
   
5. The massive disparity between the cars. They clearly didn't test each of them like we do to ensure they're equal.

I think that's it... for now.

race 1 - 1st on grid and had a velosta pass me on last lap that was lapping 2 seconds quicker than qualy time!!!!

race 2 - 2nd on grid, crap start down to 4th. quickly got back to 2nd and hot lapped for 7laps

race 3 - started 3rd from last, easily worked me way to 4th in a lap. had a volvo rolling road block to pass then a swerving american. easily disposed of them, chased 1st down who cracked under the pressure then had the velostar to fend off for 6laps. was decent challenge and achieved it for the win

managed a few clean 15.6s as well.

Nice one Si sounds like you had a good night. And agree with everything you said Dan a lot of the races I did in TORA I was in this position qualified last in a quick lobby = no fun, I much preferred my later races when I was mid pack or better but then you always had a lobby host who was a second quicker who has no race etiquette and just barged past you.

I do think they do an ok job sorting out 150 people but the ego's of some of the people involved is just beyond laughable.

There has been a little activity that is possibly TCC related over on the TORA forum. >>>LINK<<<

Now I know that many of us who raced in the previous season didn't speak too highly of the event, but if we can secure ourselves some decent cars this time (Megane, Civic, Velostar etc) would there be an interest?? As I say, no official confirmation yet, but many of them seem to think it's a new touring car series.

Also, TORA's next Spec Cup will be featuring Clio's. Right up our street. >>>LINK<<< Registrations 28th August. May actually sign up to this Spec Cup, instead of talking about signing up for one.

i`ll be up for them. even if i`m not too fussed about them it`s worth signing up, if i`m bored that night it gives me an option of something to do. also, i think like you mentioned daniel, if our team/s can secure the quickest cars we really should surprise/upset a few which could be interesting.
