Series 6 Main Event
Series 6 Main Event
So we have narrowed it down to 4 potential
Aussie V8's
Ford or Holden which is better? There is only on way to find out: FIGHT!!!!
GT300
Subaru or Nissan
Cars have been put in garage to try by me R3 both yellow .
Superstar V8's
4 cars have been put in the garage by Si for all to try out.
Sport Car Series
S671 is the PI Porsche and Alfa will definitely be in the others may be changed or PI altered.
Please test all cars and make an informed decision.
Multiple voting and vote cancelling is enabled.
A second poll may be needed to find a winner.
Poll closes next Monday at 9.00pm
Constructive comments on each series are welcome.

Re: Series 6 Main Event
Can you give a rundown of the GT300 cars Gaz, you've said Subaru or Nissan but what about Lexus and Honda?

Re: Series 6 Main Event
It's just those 2 that are classified as GT300 all the others are GT500 I think GT will check tonight though just in case.
Re: Series 6 Main Event
I'm pretty sure the NSX and Lexus are GT500 cars (as well as the Skyline's and Supra). They're so much quicker than the Subaru and 350Z.

it is just those 2 that are classified gt. on the plus side IF this was the series pick if we had equal numbers per car we could MAYBE run a team event/championship. just a thought. just imagine me and you gt in the same team only si could spoil it

Re: Series 6 Main Event
Oh yeah sorry I was thinking of GT500 which has the better cars IMO so will be changing my vote. Thanks for the clarification.

I know I seem to be the only one expressing an opinion on this but oh well! Tested the Nissan and Subaru properly yesterday and they are so planted around corners that I found them really boring to drive, it felt like a NFS game!

I also felt like they were boring the v8's and the sportscar ones would be much more fun.

not that i`m trying to sway opinion either way but think that if they are that planted how much confidence you could have in close quarter racing
i`m totaly impartial and 100% don`t mind which we use.

Re: Series 6 Main Event
We couldn't decide which series to run because each has its merits, with the admins championing a different event hence the need for a poll.
And it's good to see people testing each and making comments makes our job a lot easier cheers folks.

Yeah I understand that si but I got so bored, I couldn't even force the back out on the Subaru! I loved testing the supercars so that's where my vote went

Re: Series 6 Main Event
I don't know which Subaru and Nissan you test drove Cobra, but I had no problems getting the tail out.
Personally, I love the Scoob. Of the cars I've tested thus far, it's probably the best. Not my favourite, but the best.
As for the supercars. Just had a quick fly round in the Alfa and the Porsche. The Alfa, loud, heavy, a bit lethargic but easily provoked if needed. I like it. The Porsche felt planted if a tad understeery, nothing overtly exciting but a good car. The Vette and GT haven't driven today, but drove a few weeks back and the GT is soooo quick but so planted at the same time and the Vette is loutishly fast.
I haven't tested the Superstar cars that Si has put in yet, so can't comment on them just yet, but if they're like the ones I built they'll be fun.
And as for the Aussie V8's. No comment.

Re: Series 6 Main Event
Tested the Alfa for a bit last couple of nights and found it a pretty fun drive! As Dan said it's heavy and loud but definitely felt like I needed more skill to drive it than the GT300's. Also loved the Ford GT from when we did the testing a couple of weeks ago.
Also on the Clio's, can we have a thread where we can discuss that because I've put my paint up but there's strict instructions not to talk about it in that thread

Re: Series 6 Main Event
Will sort it out tomorrow GT.
Have put 6 different Clio builds in garage, plan is to start testing and allocate each person a build according to how quick they are, hopefully we can all start the season fairly equal and do without PI ballast. 3 seconds separate the 6 builds so if we get a few lobby's going in the next week and if everyone aims for a time similar to me and Si we were about .1 of a second difference last night on 3 different tracks. Scott was in the lobby too and PikeySmurf (Paul) who has been allocated his build already.
