Re: TORA MSA Touring Car Championship '13
Just posted this on the TORA forum. We'll how well it goes down. Don't think I've been unfair.
A TORA newby's thoughts and opinions of TCC Round 1
Last nights TORA TCC race was my first TORA event, so I thought I'd just share my thoughts, on what was overall an enjoyable nights competitive racing.
Positives:
Negatives:
Perhaps my expectations of TORA were higher than the reality of it, but I thought I'd share my thoughts. I hope I haven't spoken out of turn, or caused any aggravation with this post. These are after all only opinions.
Overall, my first TORA TCC event, was well organised, well lead and an enjoyable event with some fantastically close racing, with only a few minor blips that can surely be put down to round one rustiness. Roll on Nurburgring!
____________________________________________________________________
And since we're all friends here, you guys get a few video clips of my highly eventful race 3.
My judgement is better than a computers. There is day light between us, and yet... computer says, "Nooooo"
In PNUK it's possible to go round a corner 3 abreast. What about in TORA? Nope.
"I'm on your right Greenfly." "Yep, I see you.... I'm still on your left" BOOM "I did say I was still on your left"
No explanation needed. Just a FACE PALM.
A TORA newby's thoughts and opinions of TCC Round 1
Last nights TORA TCC race was my first TORA event, so I thought I'd just share my thoughts, on what was overall an enjoyable nights competitive racing.
Positives:
- Both qualifying and race lobby hosts, STR Warpsite GB and CQR Franchitti, were nigh on perfect in their delivery of clear and to the point information, as well as both being overly apologetic for the time delay regarding the start, when it probably wasn't their fault.
- All 3 races were highly competitive, and on the most part clean.
- The race lobby I was in, nearly all drivers had a mic. and were good at letting you know where-a-bouts they were in relation to your position.
Negatives:
- Ninjas, as I like to call them. Though most people had mics. not everyone used them. There were a couple of occasions when a car would "appear" on your inside, where there was seemingly little room, without a vocal call first. I don't expect every move to be called, since all drivers should be alert to there surroundings, but if you have to turn away from the apex to avoid a collision, a polite "close on your right" wouldn't go amiss.
- Equally calling a line doesn't necessarily mean you're entitled to pass. If it's possible to hang out around the outside to have the inside line for the next turn, then that's what I'm doing.
- Having a mic. but being in a different party. How's this helpful to anyone?
- Track limits. I was of the understanding all four wheels had to stay inside the white line at all times. This didn't happen on several occasions.
- My race in race 3 was ended for me by a seemingly impossible manoeuvre, that resulted in 3 cars in the wall.
Perhaps my expectations of TORA were higher than the reality of it, but I thought I'd share my thoughts. I hope I haven't spoken out of turn, or caused any aggravation with this post. These are after all only opinions.

@Dan just watched the first clip you posted, what happened there it seems is the other driver who you apparently came into contact with does not have the DLC, TORA Rulebook states all drivers entering events where DLC is available should download the "free car" at least so the rest become available.
Not your fault at all, his telemetry is different to yours and the blame lies with him.
@Scott I recieved your message and I do apologise for not replying last night, I have been up to my head in work towards running the lobbies last night and sorting behind the scenes stuff with other staff, I hope you are okay and wish for a swift recovery.

A few th'images from t'other nights racing, in E lobby, feature myself and Gaz.
My first TORA race ended in a photo finish for fourth.
The pack streaming down to turn 2. I do like the look of them Kias.
Pop goes the Honda.
Panel bashing fun.
Gaz, in amongst the thick of it.

Re: TORA MSA Touring Car Championship '13
Yeah, I noticed it got put in the SG. Gaz, Si and Lucy's are in there too, though I did notice that Si's car has Lucy's number on the side.
Also, for those of us that were in C lobby, myself, Gaz and Si; Richy has done some photos of race 3. I seem to feature in most of 'em for whatever reason, but there's a couple of your Pugs.

Destructive Daniel? Is that what people call me behind my back?
I'm compiling evidence as I type. I'll share the videos when they're finished uploading.

guessing you`ve been notified as can`t see a post in stewards inquiry section.
destructive daniel, nah, that`s too polite. worse than that
honestly, you`re someone i feel very confident with when close quarter racing and i`ll be intrested to see what`s been brought against you so i may judge whether i should/`ve put SI`s in.

Re: TORA MSA Touring Car Championship '13
This is what I was sent:
You have been contacted as you have been implicated in the below SI:
Following Round 2, Race 3, Lobby C of the TORA Touring Car Championship the following incident/s are under investigation by the stewards;
1) TfR Magic, Greenfly750, spartan lxviii, TfR John G
2) Description of Stewards Enquiry and complaint
TfR Magic
(Lap 8 Turns 3/4) Greenfly750 runs off the track at Turn 2 and makes an unsafe return heading straight for the Apex of Turn 3 and colliding with Spartan. Collision puts Spartan off-line for Turn 4 where he hits TfR John G and ends up broadside across the track and almost stationary, causing a pile up involving Greenfly750 and TfR Magic.
3) Please can you give your response to incident
4) Have you made supporting video available on your Storefront? YES / NO
This is what I replied with:
I knew this was coming.
Yeah. I'll probably have to agree that my re-entry to the track was slightly unsafe. When I went into Turn 2, I had a comfortable gap back to Spartan. So I thought I would still be clear, but (I use chase cam view) so used the right stick to see where he was and realised we were going to be a bit close, so turned away from the apex of Turn 3. We still made contact, at which I stayed wide. From here, I can't really remember what happened other than on the apex of turn 4 Spartan was pretty much stopped and I had no-where to go, and there was contact with another car too. I feel my contact with Spartan in turn 3 had an effect, but wasn't the cause of the turn 4 incident, if you catch my drift.
I have the replay, though haven't viewed it, nor uploaded to the Storefront. I can do this later on today if it would be advantageous.
If I view the replay and feel I need to add or withdraw information, do I just contact you again Franchitti?
Kind Regards
Followed by this:
The replay is now on the storefront, titled "TCC 6", and my gamertag is the same as my forum username: Greenfly750.
The only thing I'd add is, yes, perhaps I did re-enter the circuit in a slightly unsafe manner; but the resulting collision that affected myself and Magic, was due to Spartan seemingly driving into the wall.
The final decision is of course up to you.
I've made these two clips for you too, if it makes things easier for you.
My driving view:
An aerial view:
Whilst in the replay, I made a view photos too.

Re: TORA MSA Touring Car Championship '13
have to agree with your reply Daniel, it does look like the final pile-up was a result of the wall not you re-entering the track. Think you may get a tap on the hand for the re-entry but really doubt they would hold you responsible for the 3 car bump

Re: TORA MSA Touring Car Championship '13
He tapped the barrier and then the car in front Dan, he was offline because of your track re entry but his own lack of ability made him hit the barrier and then the car in front.
Re: TORA MSA Touring Car Championship '13
Investigations are underway, not to worry as all factors will come into play, you will receive a penalty at most, but can't honestly see it being more than a severe warning or maybe just a grid position drop, looking at just the incident you can see slight errors were made by both parties, and avoidable it may have been, you admitted to some blame which immediately reduces the severity of the punishment.
Hope this helps mate.

Re: TORA MSA Touring Car Championship '13
I'm expecting a grid drop at the least. It may even turn to a lobby drop, which I can deal with. It'll just be ironic considering how many, persistent and consistent track violations there were at Hockenheim that went unreported/unpunished. I make a genuine mistake in skill and judgement and the whole house comes down on top of me. Just TFR guys spitting their dummies out because they were getting beat, if you ask me. The best bit is. I didn't even gain anything. At point of contact I was 10th. I ended up 14th with 5 grands worth of damage.
