Virtual Motorsports - Stock Hatch - Last Round - Silverstone National - 40 laps
So, you may have noticed by the lack of posts, I have missed the three rounds, but was able to make it to the last event.
21 drivers showed up. It's been a well attended series, with over 40 entrants, but probably only 18 regulars (even I don't count, missing four rounds in total) I qualified 11th Which was A lobby By the time I got to the grid, I was 10th, someone dropped out, but 10th was still last. Which I didn't mind. It couldn't get worse.
The front row was RSR Hello Kitty Chevy's, with title contenders Flex and Lippakorv.
Behind them everyone else was jostling for position for turn two.
The field was a bevy of Chevy's plastered with Hello Kitty...
... and a flock of Fiesta's trying to interrupt the party.
So what about me then?
Still at the back. The only car in A lobby without a Ford or Chevy badge. REPRESENT! I had managed to get up to 8th by turn two, but promptly lost it again at the end of the back straight.
I wasn't at the back with a lack of commitment. I was harrying Lobster as much as I could.
Finally managing to get by.
Meanwhile. Flex and Lippakorv were having there own battle for the lead.
Whilst this little lot were trying as hard as they could to make four into own work.
After a bit more battling with Lobster, and a pit stop, I managed to get a clear bit of track. Setting my fastest clean lap on lap 34 of 40 I did get the gap to Fenboy down to 1.8 at one stage, but couldn't get any closer and slipped back a bit. I finished 9th... not last!
The race was won by Lippakorv. The title by Flex. So here's a another photo featuring Hello Kitty Chevy's.
It was a great series. A shame I missed half the races, but the ones I did were great. Well done to all involved.

Re: Friday Night Fun (and other stuff too)
So I've been delving back into the world of open lobbies on FM4. Brave I know. And whilst it's still full of eejits, every-now-and-then you stumble upon gold.
Normally a lobby has 2 to 3 good drivers at most. But when you get six or seven, it's a bit different. Whilst there is just about enough room for us all on the track, there definitely isn't enough room for all the egos and bravado. It makes for some proper moments.
Just a few shots from one lobby.
So I've spec'd up the Lambo to S700 and it's brill.
Me and this guy a great battle for a lap-and-a-half. He had power I had grip. Passing through the uphill S curves in an open lobby is always risky, but it worked.
Next up, another Porsche. Same story. I may have already had a nibble at his rear bumper.
And on the last lap I may or may not have misjudged (nudged) him mid-way through Spoon curve.
This allowed the NSX through. The Porsche driver however thought it was the NSX who nudged him...
... and so they began knocking seven bells against each other up the straight.
They continued into the final chicane allowing me to power through for 2nd place.
I have to give major kudos to the guy in the NSX (think his GT is: "Kr0nos" from Finland). He used an RWD converted RS200 for almost every race. I would be able to hold him up for a lap maybe, before he'd pas and then pull over a second a lap... clean!!! Incredibly quick. The "yanks" joined, and yes whilst they were quick, boy did they not like being beaten. They were clean themselves but claimed Kr0nos to be dirty... sore loosers really. In the end the bitching got a bit too much so I left, but it was hilarious hearing grown adult spitting their dummies out. (one felt the need to tell me my mic. sucked. I merely thanked him)
