Which series did you enjoy the most?
Season 5 Review
After hearing a few complaints about the way we have done this season in the lobby last night, I thought I would post this and you could have your say about what has gone well and what has not gone so well.
This way if we do a season 6 we can take your suggestions on board and try and implement them into it.
Please be honest as it will help us and everybody's opinion is valued.

Re: Season 5 Review
As I said last night, I wasn't complaining about the rules I was just grumpy about not having the usual jaaaaaaaag straight line speed, no criticism on the series or you guys
From the 3 Sundays I took part in I thought it was really good fun and enjoyed the racing and the rules/layout

Re: Season 5 Review
I'm abstaining from the vote, largely because I can't decide. For me both series had positives and very little negatives, and were equally enjoyable.
The Evo series was always really close, fast racing and was largely clean (Alex may disagree ). I think the PI bonuses and deductions work really well, and you can drive around the PI deficit and still be uber competitive.
As for the GT series, I wasn't quite as competitive, but that's because I picked my favourite car rather than the quickest. (Note to self; Use head, not heart for car selection) That being said, I think I've still had 3 or 4 podiums and experienced the power reduction, so I did something right. Again, I think had I got my head around the tuning earlier i.e. remove all rear wing (it may as well be called an air dam rather than a wing), then I could have been more competitive regardless of the PI deficit.
If season 6 follows the same format, then I'll definitely be signing up.
Just a quick note though Gaz. If you've been doing all this testing for a new series (which you're keeping very hush hush), will that be season 6? If so, when will season 6 be taking place? Do you do two seasons in one year? I ask because if the testing you're doing now is for a series far into the future i.e. 2014, won't the new XBox and FM5 be out by then and all your testing be wasted?

Re: Season 5 Review
How its worked in the past Daniel is if we do season 6 it would start later on this year. We normally have a few weeks break inbetween seasons, sometimes longer if it is taking longer to test and iron out details than we anticipated. Season 5 was delayed a bit for partly those reasons and things like Christmas and the MSM clios that we ran in on a Sunday. It really is quite shocking how many hours it can take testing car/build combinations to see if an idea could work, only to then find it won't and have to start over again

There is a very promising series being worked on at the moment that I'm sure will be very popular (prob not dtm's ) a lot of testing still to be done however. I would expect series 6 to be starting around June.

Re: Season 5 Review
Hopefully if we do S6 it will finish the week before Xbox3 Launch and fingers crossed FM5 is a launch title and not the new Project Gotham
We have a list of about 10 events that we could do so its seeing which work which don't and which would compliment each other if we run a similar EVO/GT mixed series.

Re: Season 5 Review
I definatly owe a big apology for last night im very down atm that my little one aged 8 is moving to oxford in july and have gone through a solociter(sorry I expect this is spelt wrong) but the only thing they could do was come up with an agreement that her mother meet halfway which is swindon but due to travel costs and times I will be reduced from seeing the little one every weekend to only one weekend a month.
Having said that I should not let my personal problems/issues cause me to make what should be pure fun racing evening a bit dampered so again big sorry for last night I know I annoyed many of you and did not represent the club or myself well.
In regards to the series they have both been great slight preference towards the evo's but I think this is because the evo's have been closer racing.

Ty Scott and genuine sympathy is with you...i couldn't and wouldn't want to contemplate being apart from my girls so being down/annoyed/upset is extremely understandable. Really hope your finances and free time can improve to allow u to see her more often :fingers crossed: On a slight aside, i would def recommend skype, free video chatting is something i find helps me a lot to keep in touch with friends i don't see often enough

Re: Season 5 Review
I think the GT cars were all too varied so it was harder to implement the ballast system (e.g. power reduction would mean that heavy cars with high horsepower would lose more than the lighter cars with lower HPs)
The evos i thought were very close racing all the way through the season, I just wish it were a better car.
My only real dislike with the series was having 2 cars, i could never find enough time to practice and tune both
