so is fm7 worth getting?

so far i`ve not seen anything about it that makes me think "yeah that sounds good", infact everything i`ve read seems to state the game is a bit of a mess.

missing racing with you guys and got a mate who`s trying to get into forza so thinking of getting it just for that.

Get it then ya southern puff. For the record, Baz races, Gaz and GT fanny aboot a bit.

I still say pcars2 is a better game with better tracks and better racing with full manual pit stops etc and has way more racing options but its waiting on a big patch (in progress). Strangely considering forza has around 700 cars to pcars 200 I honestly feel pcars2 has a better variety of race cars

racing in the rain on pcars2 and forza there is absolutely no comparison. Fm7 is like pcars much younger brother.

Historical spa and historical Hockenheim are an absolute blast

Graphically forza is more polished than  pcars2

Forza 7 is way better than forza 6 in terms of handling with a wheel although it would appear to be designed for controller use primarily. Multiplayer needs looked at IMO as options currently are limited

Yes

Single player.
It is much improved with the ability of being able to choose race length and a much better variety of events. Plus a few special events scattered in e.g. Spa 100in a corvette C7.R.

Multi player
Still limited lobbies available atm, but most of those are using the homologation which seems to be working in giving a variety of cars each race, although a few "leaderboard" are starting to creep in to those now. As long as they keep the rotation going on a regular basis the should change the event before its swamped with those cars.

League lobbies are still closed so can't comment on those just yet.

Track rotation seems to be more biased towards rain or night tracks atm but this maybe t10 showcasing what they've done.

Haven't raced in a custom lobby yet but hopefully we can get a few "friendly" races going soon. Have seen Scott, Dan and ID Mark online so with Me, Gaz, Baz, you and maybe Grinchy there could be a possibility of a series.

T10 seems to want everyone to build homologation cars, but this can be overridden so cars for a series can be built from scratch. Although tuning is the same test driving is a bit clunky at the minute with no direct "test drive" facility through the tuning menu. It is still there though just a little hidden in the free play menus.

Rivals.
T10 seems to wanting events like in fm4, there is already a bounty hunter event up. They are also promising to keep adding/rotating events and forzathon to keep it fresh finger, crossed they do this time

Class leaderboard seem to have been omitted this time, although every event in single play has its own leaderboard. I wouldn't be surprised if they were added back in though as a lot of complaints from the community about the omission.

Painting and tuning again you know what you're getting no changes.

Summary
it's Forza you know what you're getting into, some good bits added some good bits taken away. Things added that frustrate others that help. And it works faultlessly with a pad Very Happy

Anyone else noticed that the stickies have returned to fm7? You have to be really careful on the first bend at hockenheim cos the have put a sticky on taking too much of the apex, but you can quite happily still run as wide as you want by keeping the throttle down. I don't want to be punished for trying to take the correct line and lose out to blatant cheaters. I am however glad that they have put new bollards on the last few corners of Sebring before the long straight to stop the corner cutters....

Bollards and barriers have been added to a few tracks in convenient or inconvenient for cheaters locations I've noticed. Noticed the sticky also and seen people on fm.net complaining about it and people using the friction assists to carry on cutting corners lol

are there and dlc rivals so far in fm7 yet or do we know if they are to be implemented again? reason i ask is fm6 and to some extent fm5 rivals towards the end of either aforementioned were only updated with dlc only rivals, so really new rivals weren`t exactly accessible. may just sway me to purchase the dlc content included bundle version

There is VIP rivals using a VIP Forza Edition Camaro and a fast and furious rival event all the others are either homologation or production spec atm.

Lesson learned today. Apparently cross platform only works with digital copies, so because I bought disc version it won't work on PC
