just been reading through all the whimper, bickering, bitching blah blah blah stuff on fm.net and two things that i really think folk are not seeing the bigger picture on.

1. day/night - having a changing timescale is great and something i would really like to see implemented. but, many struggle to race clean, seek out braking points and generally judge distance in the clear light of day in fm4. how the hell do they think they`re going to cope in a "night" mode!

2. aquatics - as in, rain. again, as above most struggle as it is without the lack of traction on a wet surface chucked into the mix. also as above i`d love to see this in fm5. just imagine though your having a cracking race, someone comes hurtling along, hits some standing water and aquaplanes straight into you. it`s hard enough getting clean races online without these curveballs chucked into the mix as well.

now i`m certainly not against the day/night cycle and weather conditions but i think all these cries of "rain" and "night racing" is slightly short sighted somewhat.

no night/day cycle or weather affects now confirmed! not a massive biggie for me as i think it would`ve just caused chaos but why are all the fm5 reveals and info making me question forza`s direction rather than think "yep, i`m sold"?

i`m not saying it doesn`t look good because graphics wise it`s amazing. yes it`s still beta stage i spose and there`s still bits of work to do before release, think i was getting too hyped up about it and should sit tight and just plow me money into microsofts coffers and wait for the good stuff.

Need more info released to form an objective decision si.

I will be buying an Xbox even if the PS came with a free gold bar.  I'm not anti PS I owned a PS1 and PS2 but I think with the price lower than the xbox a lot of the 12 -17 yr olds will definitley be getting them for Christmas I think the xbox will be more "adult" and xbox live is many times better than ps network at the mo.

I too have a few reservations about Forza 5 but then I have had reservations in the past about FM3 and FM4 before launch and have played them to death and still continue to do so.

Agree about weather effects posted somewhere else that imagine dark and wet conditions in a public lobby recipe for disaster.

Keep reading on fm.net about the loss of the SF and AH but I think it will be replaced by something similar but called something different to show progression.


The only thing that would make me think twice is the lack of Club functionality as that is the reason FM4 is hardly ever out the disc tray.

have you kept up with each days dev talks and the like baz? loads of stuff confirmed in/out and lots of interesting things to pick up on regarding the game as a whole.

100% with you on the club stuff gaz, will more than likely be the deal breaker!

the loss of auction house and storefront is one of the interesting things i like the look of. the thing of not having locked paint etc. but getting royalties instead, quite novel.

This.  There may have been a lot of info. confirmed already, but I'll wait for a decent website to do a review of what's really what.

Also, off the topic of FM5 for a second, there's an interesting debate going on over at FM.net;  "Knowing how to drift.  Can it help you go faster in circuit racing."  This is something I've always been interested in, and have to admit, I think being a good drifter can help circuit racing/hot lapping. Link here

Starting to get worried about the lack of race cars now, can't understand why there have been so few announced come on turn 10 pull your finger out.

As of now we have no dtm cars, no Aussie v8, a couple of gt2/3 cars, a handful of open wheelers, couple of lmp cars and loads of muscle cars and road cars. At the moment I'm seriously unimpressed and if car choice is not improved dramatically nearing release date I think I may cancel my pre order. All this coupled with no fanatec wheel comparability is pure horse shite. Gt6 is now a no brainer for me even with garbage sounds

Aussie V8's haven't been officially announced but with the inclusion of Bathurst I would of thought it an absolute certainty that they will be included, but how ironic if they weren't and how many crying Aussies would there be  

isn`t it a holden v8 microsoft are using as the official xbox one promo race car.

now i know the whole launch of fm5/xbox one has been a disaster but surely it`s got to be in game.

You would of thought so but going by how badly the launch has gone that car is in GT6 and not In FM5

I don't know if I'm being dim, but i kinda get the impression fm5 is either A. A work still very much in progress or B. they are holding out on a lot to either keep them as surprizes for when we actually buy and load up the game or release the definitive list very late to build up mass hysteria on launch day? Never reveal too much too soon as they say and the anticipation builds up and makes peeps part with their money easier Another possibility is let the series fans buy as is...then, just b4 christmas release a mega car pack that is free and will boost sales at just the right time?
