What's the thoughts on last nights test, for me the actual race Sims went well. Some very close racing Smile Start date for 12th Jan or 19th Jan? Any preferences?

Unless people can get on one night this week would prefer the 19th for start, also Sherlock finishes next Sunday so then that's out the way  Embarassed

i enjoyed it, the builds seem to have worked in keeping it close and i had a few good battles. i`d prefer to start on 12th, as soon as poss for me but i`m really not adamant or fussed.

Some good racing last night but i think we need some power handicaps just to even things out a bit more .
I will be using the 463 build from now on , sorry about mic noise had to plug control in to charge battery and that interferes with my turtle beach headset .

So what were people deciding on with the builds last night then? I have been testing the 473 but still no where near the target times for the tracks.

What i had confirmed last night is Hotlapping was/is only good to a point GT, the races seemed much closer than the laptimes suggested Smile Hopefully there be a few of us on this week at some time and we can run some laps with you Smile IMO there may well be some tweaking as we go along, but its getting to the point where we just start the season else everyone will be getting bored of MX5's Wink I suppose as a reference though, i think 1:17's at Silverstone will be more than competitive for some close racing...may not win the race but certainly be nicely in the pack Smile i think im running the 473, Si, Gaz n Darren 463, Baz, Trev, Mart, Adam either 485/495 if IRC

No worries Daz Smile Was really hoping they'd fixed that now, i know mine used to do it in 4 Rolling Eyes Going to have a look at the lobby settings and see how finely they can be tuned for power/frt grip n rear grip. In Forza 4 they were too severe, but hopefully it could be something they've got right for 5 Wink

Oki doki so 1:16.3's should be ok for the 473 build then, and you know with my general "race craft" I should be good to go then Wink

Right now im getting on average around 1.18/1.19's with the 484 Build. I guess some fine tuning is needed to shave off a couple seconds to keep up with you guys. I am thinking about trying the 473 build, but i haven't made up my mind yet on that. I have a feeling it will only cause more tire spin.

Have u tried the 495 build? (i think its 495) i think its that one that has aero, might help with traction?

Traction isn't a problem. Its just 473 has a smaller tire width so it seems like I would spin more. I could be wrong so I will give both a try to see what happens.

try each build on 2 or 3 tracks as well, you may find one build is quicker at one and track and another build quicker at another. bit more time consuming but may make the decision easier. the ant roll bars at standard setting really unbalance the car, i think they are just as important as the diff settings on these builds.

if anyone is on tomorrow night and wants a practice lobby sorting i should be on about 19.30 gmt and be more than happy to get one set up.

right as no one has posted up regarding when to start the season apart from gt i can`t see why his request of the 19th can`t be the start date. anyone disagrees let me, wicked, lou or baz know.

The 19th sounds good to me.

I been using all 3 builds on this Mazda. found the best lap was with the 484 build and i got 1.16.786, averaging in the high 1.17's but with the 494 build i got 1.17.066 best lap, but i am averaging low 1.17 a lot of the time. So i think i am going to go with the 494 build since i am running a little slower then you guys. Maybe with some practice i will be able to use a lower build car next time!

That's fine mate. That's what we are about with regards to trying to make all our series as fair and balanced as possible. Join in a lobby anytime we are on and add me gt ochilbaz for some testing and bash free racing (unless si is on because he`s so much faster than me i have to bash him off)

the ghost on rivals really helped me out on a couple turns that i was taking slower then i should have. I am now holding the one corner much longer and taking it at a little bit of a different angle, and different braking technique. i got my fastest time so far on a tune lap a couple mintues after i raced some rivals. so far i am at 1.16.490 in the 494 build with some tuning left to do.

decent time that Larry, racing peoples ghost is what i consider the best way to get faster at this game.
braking is massively important with the mx5 as it really seems to struggle with weight transfer under braking. i find that all braking to achieve optimum entry speed has to be done well early so the car is balanced through the corner.
forza5 really is true to the saying of "slow in fast out".

we`ll have another practice lobby going on sunday about 19:3, a few hot laps with ghosts and then some racing. hot laps are good to see where people are at time wise and the racing gets everyone used to each other on track and gives people a chance to get any bumps/bashes out the way before the season starts  Wink

I might not be able to make it to the race tomorrow at 19:30. i work 10-6 here, i asked somebody to cover my shift tomorrow but do not know if they are going to come in or not... so if i can i will be online tomorrow around 19:30 and if not. i am sorry for not being able to make it. i did talk to my manager and i will be able to have off the next following Sunday's, its just because they already had the schedule up for this week, and i was on vacation and did not know if i was working or not. i hope thats ok with you guys!
