Been reading the forums for controller users. To increase the rumble in your controller go to the force feedback and increase levels.

Also make sure after update you hard reset xbox. I went back to 18.1 gb , after reset game went to 18.7 gb

blew my first engine last night (no sexual analogies please), was doing a race weekend around Imola in the merc DTM AI set to 80, was sitting 8th having a great race, had 4 laps to go in a 20 lap race when an orange circle appeared on screen saying "mechanical failure" couldnae feckin believe it lol, spent the next 5 minutes cursing like a good un.

I'm really struggling to find reason to pick this game up at the moment, I've just got no motivation to play it. Maybe it's cos I'm shit at it or the game itself is shit I just don't know.... but the handling seems no different since the magic patch, the cars are undrivable with base setups and I have no idea where to start with the over the top tuning. I would like to say I will take part in the series but you guys know me and know I don't like being constantly at the back of the pack, which judging by the test sessions we've had I will be. I am seriously tempted to trade this in and move on to batman or lego jurassic park over this game, at least then I'll be entertained rather than constantly turning the console off in frustration. I have a hard enough job I just want the console to entertain me and help me relax.

Sorry for the rant but after spending an hour in the ruf on imola getting nowhere I am just at the end of my tether.

Witcher 3 looks good GT, getting very tempted as each day goes by.

Well, we were at least 2 seconds of the pace with the Gulf at Brno, someone did a 1.59.xxx, but I must disagree GT, I think CARS is great, it rewards you for racing and driving properly, but if push it and run out of talent you get punished and throw a decent finish away(done it a few times) but before you all jump on the bandwagon..“your a wheel user it's made for you" may I point you in the direction of the leaderboards, cough cough, plus Gaz's last months hotlap win(nice one BTW).
It's not Forza(thank god) and you have to play it like a PC sim, I could play forza till 2 in the morning, but as soon as I'm shattered, CARS is not a game to play, you have to be on it, that's where the rewards are, and I love the game for it!

One last thing, I've copies of it for the one and ps4, and I can't stress how much better it is on the ps4, so much so that I'm making the switch to the ps4, no tearing no framerate drop overall shaper graphic's and picture and a lot smoother, still play it on the one with you lot, but using a controller, sold the wheel!

Each to their own I just can't get on with it, as I said, I want a game to enjoy and help relax and destress me after a hard day at work. Not something that infuriates me to the level of not even wanting to bother turning the xbox on. As you say, you have to be "on it" to play CARs and I must just be constantly "off it" and that just isn't relaxing to me.

Oh and to add, I think I'll end up getting Lego Jurassic Park so me and JT can play it together as he loves dinosaurs. At least then I can relax and do something of joint interest with him rather than being so single mindedly focused on making sure I have the correct racing line that I don't even know he exists.

I don't think it does reward you for driving propely, it's just too inconsistent to be a proper sim racer coupled with the fact it instantly spins you with no warning and no way of correcting it even if you did the exactly the same thing the lap before and its not even dependant on the cars hp caterham does it the same as a original turbo era f1. I would love to try it using a wheel instead of a controller to see if consistency is increased for the greater range of input control but there is no way I'm ploughing anymore money into this turd of a game.
