Hot Lap Hootenanny.
3 venues, 3 cars, 3 car classes, and 3 disciplines!
Hootenanny Part 1, (Mon. 16th Sept. - Sun. 22nd Sept.)
B class car on an oval.
Hootenanny Part 2, (Mon. 23rd Sept. - Sun. 29th Sept.)
A class car on a point-to-point course.
Hootenanny Part 3, (Mon. 30th Sept. - Sun. 6th Oct.)
S class car on a circuit.
I will announce each car and circuit on the Sunday evening, giving you each only seven days to build it, and set a time.
There will be a prize for each segment of the challenge, as well as an overall winner after adding up the three times.
There will be a set build (which I will post), and limited tuning, with the aim to keep it as close as possible.
EDIT: And hey, seeing as I'm the host, it seems fitting to throw in a photo competition too. One photo, from any of the 3 venues. Entries must be made by Wednesday 9th October, via an in game gift.

It's a simple build to follow, but please read it carefully. I have put the car in the club garage for those that don't want to buy and build one.
I know the track isn't favoured by most, but hey, they aren't called Hot Lap Challenges for nothing, and personally I think it's an awesome circuit.

Re: Hot Lap Hootenanny.
errmmmm,
just done a 35.*** on first flying lap?!?
did it in tuning section as thought would have to tweak bits to be on the money so got two pics, one of track time and one of pause menu time. the build posted takes it to 501, it`s b class up to the rear tyre upgarde which takes it up a point or two into a class:scratch:
i have
439hp
506lb-ft
3810lbs
53%
7.0l

Re: Hot Lap Hootenanny.
I don't know Si.
Will have to check the build next time I'm on. Mine is B500. As I say my Live has ran out so I won't be able to check leaderboards etc. until I'm back online.

Re: Hot Lap Hootenanny.
That's weird Si, I followed Daniels build and got spot on B500 If you got a 35xxx straight away im going to cry Like I posted, took me 49laps to beat Gaz's time by a tiny fraction of a second I can handle the normal second to half a second slower...but 2 seconds on a sub 1 minute lap...im cancelling Forza 5 order and throwing 4 away

The build I have posted is correct. You must have done something wrong Si.Si_ wrote:errmmmm,

3,840lbs

My guess looking at the weight, (yours is 30lb lighter) is that you've either added race suspension and ARB's and/or not put the diff. in? The only tune-able parts are tyres, brakes and diff. If you can tune other things then you've got the wrong parts on?
Follow the listed build and you will be fine... or just use the car in the club garage.
As for the final results, I won't be able to check them until I have renewed my Gold membership, but the results and prizes will be done.
I will post the A class details later this evening.

Re: Hot Lap Hootenanny.
I very much doubt Si did a 35.....flat out I did a 37.367(time on LB) with maybe a tenth to spare.
Nice challenge Dan forgot all bout it,did my time this morning, does it still count?

Yes, it counts Paul. You don't have to worry.pikeysmurf wrote:I very much doubt Si did a 35.....flat out I did a 37.367(time on LB) with maybe a tenth to spare.

Re: Hot Lap Hootenanny.
even if i drop the massive 1pi difference to make it b500 instead of a501 i`m sure i should still be able to manage a 35 as i didn`t even tune the car, also to manage it after one flying lap and whatever has given me that massive 1pi extra shouldn`t make too much of a difference as the 35 was achieved quite easily. (massive egg on face moment to commence )

Re: Hot Lap Hootenanny.
i know it`s not great proof and even if the the challenge deadline has passed i`d still like to prove to myself that a 35 is possible.
anyhoo....
unfortunately i couldn`t get my phone to dial out the glare to get the 501pi (illegal) to show
gutted kind of forgot bout this challenge as i found the car so easy to drive and like the track. y`all got lucky

Re: Hot Lap Hootenanny.
Still don't believe it, if it's that easy, why not do it as a hot lap and stick it on the leaderboard like the rest of us!!

Re: Hot Lap Hootenanny.
I don't know why everyone is thinking it's finished yet. It's there in black and white.
Hootenanny Part 1, (Mon. 16th Sept. - Sun. 22nd Sept.)
Today is Sunday 22nd September. Therefore you are all still eligible to set a time. Simple.
And sorry Si. Your time is illegitimate since it's an illegal build. Rules are rules and have to be followed.

Re: Hot Lap Hootenanny.
because i`m such a cheat and need this challenge win in my life otherwise my universe will crumble
or maybe it`s because i had 30mins spare last night whilst my tea was cooking and thought i`d build and have few laps in tuning to test the car. then when managed that time i took the pics, posted up something didn`t seem right as it was that easy and cracked on with tea.

Re: Hot Lap Hootenanny.
I don't know either. It does seem a little daft, since the only major difference is the weight... and even then it's only 30lbs.
To be honest I'm still scratching my head too as to why the build comes out at a different PI for you. I checked it a couple of time before posting and again this morning. :shrugs: I dunno'.
But as I say, you still have a few hours if you do what a bash. Use the club garage version... that's a legal build.
